Vulnerability Disclosure Program: Security Policy

No technology is perfect, and Starknex believes that working with skilled security researchers across the globe is crucial in identifying weaknesses in any technology. If you believe you've found a security issue in our product or service, we encourage you to notify us. We welcome working with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Disclosure Policy

  • - Let us know as soon as possible upon discovery of a potential security issue, and we'll make every effort to quickly resolve the issue.
  • - Provide us a reasonable amount of time to resolve the issue before any disclosure to the public or a third-party.
  • - Make a good faith effort to avoid privacy violations, destruction of data, and interruption or degradation of our service. Only interact with accounts you own or with explicit permission of the account holder.

Exclusions

  • - Denial of service
  • - Spamming
  • - Social engineering (including phishing) of Starknex employees, contractors or affiliates
  • - Physical attacks against Starknex employees, offices, properties, devices or data centers
  • - Any vulnerability obtained through the compromise of Starknex employee accounts
  • - Generic information disclosure (e.g. debug trace, server headers, server/software versions, server errors) without additional impact
  • - Issues with SPF, DKIM or DMARC Records on Starknex Domains
  • - Missing best practices in Content Security Policy
  • - Vulnerabilities that are already known (e.g. discovered and reported by other researchers or by Starknex internal teams)
  • - Reports from Automated Tools/Scans with no proof of a unique security threat
  • - Open Ports/Services with no proof of concept of demonstrating a vulnerability

Access to personal data

If at anytime you inadvertently access another persons data or Starknex data without any authorisation from Starknex while investigating, you must cease any activity that might result in further access to such personal data and Starknex data, and must notify Starknex immediately.
You must report to Starknex the full details of the data accessed, the method of access, and the duration of access.
After reporting, you must immediately delete personal data and/or Starknex data from all your systems.
You must also not share or disclose any inadvertently accessed personal data or Starknex data with anyone else.

Safe Harbor

Any activities conducted in a manner consistent with this policy will be considered authorised conduct and we will not initiate legal action against you. If legal action is initiated by a third party against you in connection with activities conducted under this policy, we will take steps to make it known that your actions were conducted in compliance with this policy.
Also, please do not violate any laws when conducting your tests.

If you are testing on assets that require a Starknex ID, please include "VDP" somewhere in your email (e.g. [email protected] or [email protected]).

We have a platform coming soon however for now, all reports must be emailed to [email protected].
